Through out these 2 weeks room 5 and 6 have been doing a Term 1 reflection where we say what we enjoyed, if we have completed our goals this term and other stuff like that. I think the hardest part for me this term was to try say at least one thing in front of the class because I am pretty shy at school. The easy part for me this year was trying new and challenging things. My next step is to try do the thing that was most hard for me on this list. I hope you enjoyed my blog post.

Volvo ocean race trip
Last week 10 kids got picked to go to the Volvo ocean race in Auckland one of those people were me. It was very fun in Auckland because we got to loads of fun activity including dancing with wisdom the albatross, make plastic bag flowers, go on simulators and we even got to sail. My favorite part about the trip was sailing, going in the big globe, and seeing the yachts. Take a look at our video.

Anzac- summer learning journey
This poem makes me feel both sad and angry, that people went to war and died, I think war is totally unnecessary and wish it didn't have to come to families losing their loved ones but i am very grateful that they gave their lives for our freedom. R.I.P and thank you to all the soldiers who died for us.
What to do
As the new century dawned, New Zealanders settled into a period of relative calm. The calm lasted for about 15 years but came to a sudden end in 1914 when World War I erupted in Europe. The war lasted for almost five years and claimed the lives of 18,000 New Zealanders.
It also claimed the lives of thousands of men and women from countries around the world. Every year, we remember these brave men and women on ANZAC Day (25 April). Many people go to a special Anzac Day ceremony where they read a special poem that was written for the fallen soldiers. The poem is called ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae.
Read the poem. On your blog, tell us what you think of the poem. Do you like it? How does it make you feel?
Notre Dame Paris- summer learning journey
Name: Notre Dame de Paris, france
Where it was built: Paris, france on a small island called lle de la cite in the middle of the river seine.
When it was built: 1163
how long it took to build: almost 200yrs
what to do
At the turn of the century, there was a great deal of construction happening in New Zealand. Many of the new British settlers wanted to build homes and community meeting places, such as churches. One of the largest buildings to be constructed during this period was St Joseph’s Cathedral in Dunedin.
St Joseph’s Cathedral is just one of hundreds of beautiful cathedrals around the world.
Use your search engine to find a picture of another famous cathedral. Post a picture of the cathedral on your blog. Underneath the picture tell us: the name of the cathedral, where the cathedral is located, when it was built, and how long it took to build.
